Executive Technical Summary: A truly breathable diaper backsheet must be 100% liquid impermeable while allowing microscopic water vapor molecules to exhaust continuously.

Diaper rash is heavily exacerbated by humidity trapped inside the diaper. Shenghongda's microporous backsheets are manufactured by blending linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) with ultra-fine calcium carbonate (CaCO₃) particles at a 50:50 ratio.

The MDO Biaxial Stretching Process

When the film is stretched in the machine direction, the polyethylene polymer tears microscopically around the rigid CaCO₃ granules, creating billions of tortuous micro-pores (0.1 to 1.0 microns in diameter). These pores are large enough for water vapor molecules (0.0004 microns) to escape, but thousands of times smaller than liquid water droplets (100+ microns).
